Thank You for sponsoring me!

I would like to give my thanks to everyone who sponsored me in my reading challenge.  I set myself a goal of finding 10 sponsors, and earning $150 for the Talkeetna Library.  Thanks to you I managed to earn $600 for the library!!!  Hey Sponsors – you are all so cool!!  Thank you for helping me succeed in my challenge.

Day 30...The final day!

Day 30 (3-28 Saturday) My LAST DAY!!!  Today I read and finished “Adventures Wanted, book 3”. It took me about an hour to finish the last 3 chapters. I really like how Alex goes ballistic when his horse dies or his friend is hurt; when this happens he incinerates the monster that caused them pain. I thought this was a really good book and I definitely recommend this series to all fantasy lovers.

I also read the first 2 books in the “Spiderwick Chronicles” series. These books are kind of small, but they are very interesting and fantasy-like. I will definitely continue to read this series.

Day 29 - I Funny

Day 29 (3-27 Friday) Today I started and finished a book called “I Funny” which is about a boy in a wheelchair who wants to be a stand-up (or should I say sit-down) comedian.  This book has 303 pages and took me about an hour to read.  There are lots of pictures in it which is why it went so fast.

Day 26-28 Albrek's Tomb

Day 26 (3-24 Tuesday) Today I read the first 8 chapters (124 pages) in “Adventures Wanted, book 3 – Albrek’s Tomb”. In this quest they must find the dwarfin Ring of Searching to find new mines for the dwarfin kingdom before the old ones go dry.

Day 27 (3-25 Wednesday) Today I read 1 hour and a half (6 chapters, pages 109-209) in “Adventures Wanted, book 3”.

Day 28 (3-26 Thursday) Today I read for about 2 hours (7 chapters, pages 235-399) in “Adventures Wanted, book 3”.  This book is just as interesting as the last two.  In each of these books, Alex encounters at least one mythological creature.  In this one he encounters cintars, brownies, sphinxes, as well as a gryphin and a nagis.

Day 20 (3-18 Wen.) today I read 1 hour (chapters 3 through 5, pages 57-127) of “Supernaturalist”.

Day 21 (3-19 Thur.) Today I read chapters 6-8 (pages 126-200) for about an hour and 30 minutes. In those chapters they were captured and brought to a space station where they found the parasite’s weakness… radioactive energy.

day 18-19 finishing The Peculiar

Day 18 (3/16) Today I finished “The Peculiar”. I didn’t really like it and don’t quite recommend it. I couldn’t keep up really, and it would switch who was telling the story mid-sentence. It was entertaining but very confusing.

******************************************************************   Day 19 (3-17) Today I started “The Supernaturalist” by Eion Colfer. This Book is about a future city and a boy named Cosmo hill. After escaping an orphanage that tests weird medicines on the kids, he joined a group of teens fighting a vires to save all human life in there city. It is very interesting.

I don't want to spoil any thing but I will tell you this; the crystal Alex promises to give the Oracle of White tower is in the dragon's hoard. I hope you read this book.... it is super fun!

I am going on vacation for spring brake meaning I will do lots of reading but not many posts. See you when school starts!

Day 5 (March 3rd)

Today I continued to read all the way to chapter 12 in Adventures Wanted, book 1. That’s 127 pages for today! It took me about 50 minutes to read all of that.

I also stared "QUANTUM LEAGUE" by Mathew Kirby, which is kind of like  "The Last Air bender". I read about 4 chapters (43

pages). This book is about a boy named Ben Warner and his friends. the are a group of children who, when in range of the proper equipment, can Actuate. Actuation is the ability to create an element and control it out of thin air. but when another group of actuators kid nap the lady teaching them to use there abilities. this book is action pact and full of thrills. I defiantly recommend it to "Percy Jaxon" and "The Last Airbender" fans.

So for my daily total, I read for about an hour and a half.

Day 4 - Mon. March 2nd

Today was a sick day so I spent a lot of time reading at home. I read chapters 3 and 4  of "Adventures Wanted, book 1" (pages 35 to 81), which took me about an hour.  This book is very exciting and action packed.

Days 2 & 3

Sorry I couldn’t post yesterday, I was at my grandparent’s house and away from the internet, so here are the 2 books I read while I was gone.

Day 2 (Saturday Feb 28th)

Today I read 30 minutes of “Adventures Wanted, book 1,( page 1-34), which is about a boy named Alex who becomes an adventurer by joining a dwarf and an elf on a quest to slay a dragon and recover its hoard of gold. When I started this book I thought it would be middle aged or something so I was surprised to find it was modern time.

Day 3 (Sunday March 1st)

While we were driving home yesterday I read the entire “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, BOOK 3,” it took me about 45 min. to finish it. I love diary of a wimpy kid books because they are so funny!

Day 1

Today I started my reading challenge and read for 50 minutes. My neighbor loaned me a copy of Jonathon Livingston Seagull, by Richard Bach (thanks Larry!).
I loved this book and it was a wonderful suggestion. I really liked that it is told through the seagull's eyes and not  the eyes of some wildlife photographer. This book was so entertaining I couldn't put it down!  I definitely recommend it to all animal lovers.

My Reading Challenge

Hello,

My name is Vega and I am earning money for my local library.  To do so, I've given myself a reading challenge, and I need your help.  I am going to read at least 30 minutes a day for 30 days, and I will log all my reading right here on this blog so you can see just how much I've read. I will even add a list of the books I am reading (you can make suggestions too).  My reading challenge will run from Friday, February 27th to Friday, March 27th, 2015.

Here's how you can help.  I am looking for people to sponsor me in my challenge.  In order to sponsor me, you will need to come up with an amount you will donate for each day of my challenge.  For example, you could sponsor me for $0.50 per day.  When I complete my challenge, I would collect $15 from you to donate to the Talkeetna Library.  I have set myself a goal of earning $150 for the Library.

I would very much appreciate your assistance in my challenge. If you are interested in sponsoring me, please contact me through my mom's e-mail which is aksunmama@gmail.com

Be sure to check back here often so you'll know how much I've read.

Thank you!
Vega
